Freshman Lawmaker Introduces First Bill
Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17) has introduced the Government Waste Reduction Act.
The bill is the first piece of legislation that Bustos has introduced.
A news release from the congresswoman's office says the federal government has 47 job training programs, 44 of which overlap.
“Instead of balancing the federal budget on the backs of Illinois middle class families, seniors and veterans, we can start by reducing duplicative services and rooting out waste in government. That’s why the Government Waste Reduction Act is the first bill that I have chosen to introduce." - Rep. Cheri Bustos
