Holly Jones

Holly Jones is a Conservation Biologist at Northern Illinois University, where she is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences and the Institute for the Study of the Environment, Sustainability, and Energy. 

She studies how ecosystems recover from disturbances and the best ways to restore ecosystems. She shares information about her work and projects at the Jones Lab website.

Her field work has taken her to far-flung islands in the Aleutians and she has current research projects on New Zealand islands and at Nachusa Grasslands in Franklin Grove, Ill.

She double-majored in Marine Biology and Ecology and Evolution at University of California, Santa Cruz and received her doctorate from Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. 

In her spare time, she enjoys making mischief with her husband and two daughters, reading fiction, cooking, gardening, and traveling.
