Illinois Sees Drop In Home Foreclosures

Illinois' home foreclosure activity has fallen nearly 60-percent in the last year.  A report from RealtyTrac shows the state still has the eighth-highest rate in the nation. 

In August, the number of properties that received a foreclosure filing in the state was 6-percent lower than the previous month and 59-percent lower than the same time last year.   

According to RealtyTrac, there are currently1.2 millionproperties in U.S. that are in some stage of foreclosure.

In August, the number of properties that received a foreclosure filing in the U.S. was 2% lower than the previous month and 34% lower than the same time last year. 

Nationally, home sales for July 2013 were up 2% compared with the previous month, and up 2% compared with a year ago.
