Two juvenile boys age 16 and 12 have been arrested in connection with the July 15th fire that destroyed several buildings in the Prophetstown Business District. Illinois State Police, State Fire Marshal's office, and the Whiteside County Sheriff's Department are investigating the incident.
According to a release from the Illinois State Police, the boys were transported to a juvenile detention facility in Galesburg. Investigators are meeting with the Whiteside County State's Attorney's Office to discuss formal charges.
