Two health systems in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin that merged last year unveiled a new name and logo on Monday to emphasize the unification of their resources into one integrated regional provider.
Janesville, Wisconsin-based Mercy Health System and Rockford Health System merged in January 2015. President and CEO Javon Bea says the new name, Mercyhealth, along with a new logo, symbolizes the joining of the two into one fully integrated health system that serves the public seamlessly across the area. He says having the name at all sites, on websites and on all materials allows patients to better see it as a truly regional system, offering a recognized level of care no matter what their location.
Mercyhealth also has a new expression to reflect its new identity: “a passion for making lives better.” Bea says it reflects the passion by the system’s doctors, nurses and employees to their patients and their families, and their commitment to working together for them.
The merged system comprises five hospitals, more than 8,000 employees, more than nearly 770 physicians, and more than 100 outpatient clinics and other sites, serving to 15 counties in in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. It also provides home health and hospice and includes a wholly-owned insurance company.
