National Hunt For Rockford Man Ends In Wisconsin Car Crash

The suspect in two northern Illinois murders is now in police custody in a Wisconsin hospital. Terence Doddy was captured near Beloit after he crashed a car into a tree after a high-speed police chase.

Doddy is a suspect in the deaths of a Rockford man and a Monticello woman. 37-year-old Todd Hansmeier was found dead Monday at an east side call center in Rockford. 44-year-old Tonya Bargman was attacked and killed at the Willow Creek rest stop on I-39 near Paw Paw.

Doddy was spotted driving Bargman's car a number of times in northern Winnebago County over the past few days and was captured on surveillance cameras shopping in Rockford. Today, he led Illinois State Police and officers from other northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin law enforcement agencies on a high speed chase back and forth over the state line. He was captured after hitting a tree along Highway 81 in Rock County, Wisconsin.

Doddy is being treated at a hospital in Janesville. Once he's released, he'll be taken to the Rock County jail, then extradited to Winnebago County. There's a Rockford arrest warrant for him, and the investigation is being conducted by Rockford and Illinois State Police.
