Chicago police announce arrest numbers following protests of the conference. City officials are praised for their handling of the event.
The Chicago Police Department says 90 people were arrested before and during the NATO Summit. A department spokeswoman also says eight police officers were injured while keeping protesters away from the site of the conference. Authorities say many of those arrested were released Monday without charges being filed.
Meanwhile, President Obama praised Chicago officials and residents following the summit. Mr. Obama says his hometown ``proved that this world-class city knows how to put on a world-class event."
