Nine hours of contract negotiations between the Rockford School district and its teachers have ended: teachers will hit the picket lines Thursday morning.
Interim superintendent Robert Willis says the two sides made substantial progress during today's negotiations, but there are still many details to be worked out. He hopes they can return to the bargaining table soon: in the meantime, school is canceled and parents have to have plans in place for their children's care.
