Rockford's Muslim community opens its new mosque this weekend

Rockford, Illinois – The Rockford-area Muslim community celebrates its first prayers in a newly-built mosque at 12:30 p.m. today (Friday, March 4). The local Muslim community is very diverse and steadily growing. Conservative estimates put the current number of Muslim families living in Rockford at about 300. WNIJ's Christopher Hosken prepared this report.
