Northern Illinois University women's basketball coach Kathi Bennett has resigned, Director of Athletics Sean T. Frazier announced Wednesday.
According to a news release, Bennett compiled a record of 57-93 in five seasons at NIU. The Huskies posted a 12-17 record in 2014-15.
Frazier said a national search for a new head women's basketball coach will begin immediately.
"We will work diligently and quickly to find the best person and coach to lead the Huskie women's basketball program going forward," he said.
