Quinn, LaHood Join Groundbreaking For Nippon Sharyo Expansion

Nippon Sharyo will add to its existing rail car factory with a $54 million facility for metal fabrication and machining work on rail cars. Outgoing  U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and Illinois Governor Pat Quinn joined Japanese dignitaries for the groundbreaking Tuesday. DeKalb hotel project may prevent business "leakage"

Construction is nearing for an 80-room, four-story Hampton Inn along I-88 and Annie Glidden Road in DeKalb. Mayor Kris Povlsen says the hotel may keep visitors from leaving the city to stay overnight in neighboring towns.
